We Can Help!

Georgia Driving School offers an excellent defensive driving program that is regularly required by Georgia law and out of state courts. Here are some reasons for taking our 6-hour program:

New Driver Requirement

As of January 1, 2007, every individual of the age of 16 applying for a Class D drivers license is required to complete an approved driver's education course as well as 40 hours of supervised driving.

Many Georgia judges will dismiss a moving violation if the offender successfully completes a 6-hour defensive driving program. Not only will taking our program get your ticket dismissed, it will also keep the violation from appearing on your record and, therefore, keep your insurance rate from increasing.

Suspensions

suspensions

Under 18 – A law was passed on January 1, 2002 that requires any drivers under the age of 18, who have accrued 4 or more points within a 12-month period to have their license suspended for up to 6 months. You must complete a 6-hour defensive driving program prior to having your licensed restored.

Under 21 – Under the same law, drivers under the age of 21 will have their licensed suspended for at least 6 months if they are convicted of a moving violation that results in them having 4 or more points. Again, completion of a 6-hour defensive driving program is required prior to the reinstatement of their driving privileges.

Point Reduction

Under Georgia Law, taking our driving course can reduce up to 7 points off your driving record. You are allowed to take this course once every 5 years.

License Suspension:

Under Georgia Law, if a driver accrues 15 points with a 24 (2-year) period, their license will be suspended until said driver has completed the 6-hour defensive driving program.

Insurance Discount:

Drivers of the age of 25 or older, who possess a clean 3 year driving record can take our 6 hour program and receive a discount of at least 10% off their auto insurance premium. This discount will last a total of 3 years.

Fine Reduction:

In some courts, an offender will be allowed to complete the 6-hour defensive driving program in order to receive a 20% reduction of their fine. They will also not have any points noted on their record.
